Risk assessment workshop, Vietnam

A two-day risk assessment workshop was held in Hanoi to elicit opinions from 29 independent scientists, experts and community representatives on the potential risks associated with releasing Wolbachia infected Aedes aegypti in Vietnam. The scientists and experts represented various professional areas related to Aedes aegypti and socio-economic and public health aspects of dengue fever management. The potential hazards were examined under four major domains including i) Ecology change, ii) Management efficacy, iii) Public health, and iv) Socio-economic change.
